Queensland Seller Disclosure Statement

There are changes coming to property law in Queensland from 1 August 2025 with the introduction of new requirements upon the seller of property when it comes to what disclosure they must make to a potential buyer, and what documentation they must provide before a contract of sale is entered into.

This comes in the form of a new Seller Disclosure Statement which must be provided to a buyer of property by a seller prior to a contract of sale entered into.

In most cases the Seller Disclosure Statement will be prepared by a real estate agent and provided to prospective buyers so they can make an informed decision about whether a purchase a property.

We’ve put together the below fact sheet with more information about the new disclosure requirements.

Our conveyancing lawyers would be happy to answer any questions in regards to this.
