The suburb of Robina is proving to be one of the most popular on the Gold Coast for its diverse offering, excess of recreational facilities, education options, medical facilities and retail offerings. The home is popular with families and professionals due to its central placement on the Gold Coast and links to the beachside suburbs to the East and direct highway access to the West.

The suburb was founded in 1980 on what was previously grazing farmland and since this time has grown to become one of the Gold Coast’s largest and busiest suburbs, with a thriving development scene.

Lying at the heart of Robina is Robina Town Centre, the Gold Coast’s largest shopping centre and home to over 350 stores, including a David Jones, Myer, Zara, Apple Store, Big W, Target, Kmart, two Woolworths supermarkets and Australia’s larges Coles supermarket. The centre also boasts a promenade of restaurants, a 24-hour gym and a large Event Cinemas complex.

The bustling shopping centre acts as the beating heart of the suburb, acting as a retail, dining and entertainment hub. Surrounding the shopping centre are a large collection of commercial buildings, with Robina acting as the second CBD of the Gold Coast. A notable tower is ‘The Rocket’, which provides top class commercial space to premium business tenants.

Robina has a very diverse residential offering, with options ranging from high-rise apartments, to boutique apartment buildings, a variety of townhouse complexes and plenty of single dwelling detached houses.

The suburb is well serviced by public transport, with a direct heavy rail link, offering direct train travel south to Varsity Lakes and north to Helensvale, Coomera and Brisbane. Robina Station was opened in 1998 and is one of the largest train stations on the Gold Coast. It makes Robina an ideal suburb to live in for those professionals commuting north to Brisbane for work, with the trip taking around an hour, making it an easy commute.

Robina Hopsital is also one of the Gold Coast’s major hospitals and has undergone a large expansion and renovation in recent years. There are a lot of close by medical centres and specialists complementing the hospital, making Robina a popular suburb to live in for medical professionals.

The adjoining suburb of Varsity Lakes is home to Queensland’s only private university Bond University, which makes Robina a popular choice for students to live in and a great choice for property investors looking to take advantage of this rental market.

Robina is also home to a large library and community centre, often hosting large community events. In the 2011 census estimated Robina’s population at 20,522 people. The suburb has grown to house both a state primary school and a state high school, providing education to the suburbs children close to home.

Robina is also the sporting capital of the Gold Coast, being home to Cbus Super Stadium, home of the mighty Gold Coast Titans, the Gold Coast’s only NRL team. This rectangular football stadium also hosts several national and international rugby league and rugby union events and boasts a capacity of close to 28,000 people and cost over $160 million to construct. The stadium was officially opened in 2008 and has proven very popular with Gold Coast locals.
